OpenAI Names Dali Rajic Revenue Chief as Denise Dresser Departs
OpenAI said Thursday that Dali Rajic will become its chief revenue officer, replacing Denise Dresser, who is leaving the company about eight months after joining. Rajic previously served as president and chief operating officer of cybersecurity company Wiz. Dresser will remain at OpenAI briefly to help support customers and the business team during the leadership transition.
Dresser joined OpenAI in December following more than a decade as an executive at Salesforce. She was responsible for the company’s global revenue strategy, including its enterprise and customer success operations.
Her departure comes as OpenAI continues to expand its enterprise business ahead of a potential public offering. The company confidentially filed an IPO prospectus with the Securities and Exchange Commission in June, days after Anthropic made a similar filing. OpenAI completed a funding round in March at a valuation of $852 billion. Building its enterprise customer base has been one of the company’s priorities as it competes in the artificial intelligence market.
The revenue leadership change also follows several recent executive departures. Brad Lightcap announced Tuesday that he was leaving OpenAI after eight years with the company and said he intends to start something new. Dresser had assumed many of Lightcap’s responsibilities in April after OpenAI shifted him into a position focused on special projects.
Fidji Simo, who had served as OpenAI’s product and business chief, announced last month that she was stepping down to focus on recovery following what she described as a severe exacerbation of a chronic illness. Three other OpenAI executives left the company in April.
OpenAI said Dresser is departing to pursue other opportunities. In a LinkedIn post Thursday, she said she had been working with OpenAI President Greg Brockman on the transition and expressed appreciation for the company’s employees and their work with customers.
